quarter mile test with the 2013 audi s8With quite a big acquisition cost for the 2013 Audi S8, your average Joe won’t afford it; An Audi S8 price goes around 110,895 dollars, a base model! Nevertheless, the auto world is intrigued by this fast luxury sedan made with the finest german engineering techniques; What the hell, an Audi S8 weighs 2.5 tons and it can still beat a Chevrolet Corvette Z06!

That’s why i think of the Audi S8 as a true german auto example! First you’ll watch a youtube video with the 2013 Audi S8 on more than a simple test drive and after that, you can read the car specs and other car details that will caress you car care personality :D.

The auto manufacturers from Audi tried to turn this luxury car in a powerful competitor for sports cars but they’ve managed to make it go even faster than some supercars! What kind of car engine can we get on the 2013 Audi S8?

Our Audi S8 from 2013 is equipped with a massive car engine, a v8 engine to be more precise but that’s not your ordinary V8’er as you can see from the youtube video. I can just imagine Jeremy Clarkson from the Top Gear series, talking about the 2013 Audi S8’s engine, a twin turbo 4.0 liter with 520 horsepower which produces huge amounts of torque 479 lb-ft, available from 1700 to 5500 rpm. POWERRRRRRRRRRR :D! The turbos are in the middle of the V8 just like in the new Bmws!

In drag mode, the fast Audi S8 gets from 0 to 60 mph (100 kmh) in 3.5 seconds and in a quarter mile it will do 118.3 mph (190 kmh) in 11.8 seconds!

audi s8 to the limits

Ohh and yes, the awesome Audi S8 is as usual, a Quattro all wheel drive with a rear sport differential luxury car that has a top speed limited at 155 mph or 250 kmh! And it has a superb engine sound with a delicate growl which gets louder and louder as you push the throttle pedal!

Is the 2013 Audi S8 one of those cars that know a thing or two about fuel efficiency? Yes, it is!

If you drive it like in the car video that you’ve just watched, then no, it isn’t but if you drive it like a city car then you’ll have a little surprise!

When you think of the Audi S8’s price tag you just want to forget about getting one for yourself but being a car owner for this model won’t make you spend too much money on gas because the fuel consumption for the 2013 Audi S8 is rather good. Why is that?

Because those smart people from Audi or the auto manufacturers, thought of everything including the fact that people need a fuel efficient car. They mounted some interesting systems on the Audi S8 like cylinder deactivation (just like the v8 Chrysler 300 has but it’s more complex with tech things and stuff that are presented in the car video), an aluminum body and a 8 speed transmission but it’s automatic.

From all these improvements, you can expect a fuel consumption of about 13 liters for 100 km!!

testing an 2013 audi s8 videoThe 2013 Audi S8 has some pretty big alloy wheels, ohh and those are 20 inch wheels to protect the big and sexy brake calipers which come as standard in cast iron or as an extra in carbon ceramic.

The car interior is quite the same with every Audi A8 but you’ve got a red S on the steering wheel which reminds you the fact that you don’t need things like sat nav, cd mp3, leather seats (well they’re kind of sports seats anyway), carbon fiber around the dashboard, or other luxury aluminum details, but you still get them. You just have to drive this beast because it’s been made just for that! Inside the 2013 Audi S8 you will also see:

  • sexy gray dials with white needles
  • a bright red engine start button
  • a 1400 watt Bang & Olufsen audio system

Forget about care of cars when it comes to the outstanding and stylish Audi S8 – try to imagine yourself testing it to its limits just like in today’s video. I’m pretty curious if The Stig would take it on a Top Gear lap :D.

The Audi Drive system lets you customize your car with things like:

  • preferred steering weight
  • throttle sensitivity
  • suspension settings (it has air suspension)
  • transmission behavior
